Of all kinds of love – a mother’s love is the deepest…………the play revolves around Helen, a middle-aged single parent, and her teenage daughter, Jo. Helen finds it hard to make ends meet on what she receives from her various men friends and gives little attention to Jo who bitterly resents this. Helen seizes the opportunity to marry, seemingly abandoning Jo once more, so Jo seeks affection elsewhere and becomes involved with a sailor but, instead of finding happiness, she is left pregnant and struggling to survive with only Geoff, a student friend, to care about her.
