Theatre Eight is Geraldton’s own amateur repertory club. Formed in 1974, it is named after Eighth St in Wonthella on which it is sited. Over the years many memorable productions involving adults and children have been produced consisting of dramas, music hall shows, comedies and musicals to the delight of Geraldton audiences. Our performers range in age from 6 to 90 years old.

Theatre 8 generally put on three Adult productions every year and one or two Teen 8 productions.  We strive to bring to the stage a mixture of classic or modern drama, a comedy and a musical so that Theatre 8 at least caters to everybody's tastes at least once in the year.  The Christmas show is our big event and is traditionally a musical with a three course meal included; these are always popular shows and ones which the majority of Theatre 8 members clearly enjoy.

Theatre 8's bookings are done through Queens Park Theatre and there is also an On Line booking facility which we now have a link to.  It is always advised that you book in advance but tickets are available at the door.

Theatre 8 also has its own Youth Theatre group called Teen 8 which is currently enjoying some success with their own productions.  See Teen 8 for more information.

Theatre 8 are always looking for more volunteers to cover every aspect of running a theatre, from Front of House, to Wardrobe, to Set Building, to Props making and yes, for those budding Hugh Jackman's and Cate Blanchett's, even treading the boards.  If you are interested in joining our team contact the committee member of the area you're interested in, although any member will assist you. If you are ever passing the theatre and find it open and think you might be interested please walk in for a chat; you will always be welcome.

Membership of Theatre 8 is open to people of all ages and costs $20 adults and $10 for children per year. Benefits include discounted theatre tickets and a bi-monthly news-letter.
