"Playing the Palace" Directed by Betty Mitchell, Musical Director Daphne Dodd. Performed July-August 2009
This Musical Play is about a much loved Vaudeville Theatre which is being threatened with demolition, and about a group of people, together with the "ghosts of the theatre" who are trying to save it.
This wonderful large cast theatre has
everyone putting on a new show in the old vaudeville tradition in an attempt to
save the Palace from the wrecker's ball. Here you will find the old songs and
all the old shtick and schmaltz. Ghosts of the past help the players of the
present as romances blossom on opposite side of the demolition question. Can the
lovers resolve their differences? Of course! The show must go on! See below for cast list and photos from the show!!
