This has been a very busy and exciting week, what started as an idea grew into a huge performance for ‘Teen 8’ and they did a wonderful job. The ‘Fashions and Furs’ parade was a huge success for the audience and the performers. The fashions from our wardrobe looked stunning and the girls and boys were so professional on stage and did all the moves perfectly, all their hard work paid off. The boys were great they were right out of their comfort zone all dressed up in their suits and escorting the girls in their lovely dresses, but they did not look at all out of place, good work boys. I was so proud of them all. But wait there’s more! The ‘Tweenies’ were introduced and performed ‘I’m a Believer’ they did a tremendous performance and did not show a trace of stage fright. Congratulations to Heather and Rebecca who have worked with these young people and had lots of fun. The Intermediate group did a reading from the version of ‘The Wind in the Willows’ that they will perform later this year. They did so well that I am sure we will be impressed with the final product. Congratulations to all the Young Players of T8.

The clean up the next day is always a drag, but I have never seen so many young people and parents turn up to help. We were finished in just one and a half hours. I want to thank the young people and parents for a fantastic job, and all the wonderful parents and helpers who came and helped on Saturday back stage with the many changes of clothing. Once again Robert and Mary came and did a wonderful job; Robert didn’t know he was stage manager till Saturday and Mary helped back stage too. Leslie did a great job FOH, it’s a nightmare in the afternoon at a children’s performance. Thanks to Neil and Michael for the lights and music. One of the highlights was our surprise performer, Lochie paid a visit from Perth and Carlie who had been persuaded to model three outfits needed a partner, so Lochie was sent to the wardrobe and came out with an evening suit and really enjoyed being a part of the show.

Well Fawlty Towers is shaping up to be the show of the year, what a fantastic job everyone is doing from the set to the acting it is first class. Make sure that you get to QPT for your tickets ASAP as they are selling fast.

T8 is joining forces with QPT and the festival to present ‘Geraldton’s got Talent’ more details about that later.

Well I know that I have rambled on about the Young Players but they are the future of T8 and they deserve our support.

Till next time.

Stay safe and happy

Doreen
